Odour testing at Eurofins now accredited

Odour testing according to ISO 16000-28 is discussed in Germany by Umweltbundesamt (EPA) as a possible compulsory element of Blue Angel ecolabel for interior construction products. Several experts raise questions on the reliability of such tests, and on the validity of chamber tested odours for odours of the same products after realistic application.

Nevertheless, in May 2015, the Danish accreditation body DANAK confirmed ISO 17025 accreditation of odour intensity testing according to ISO 16000-28 at Eurofins Products Testing A/S in Galten / Denmark. This guarantees a high level of reliability of such tests – but within the given methodological limitations.
