BREEAM: 2014 versions modify the specifications on low emissions from products


BREEAM is an international scheme for certifying sustainable buildings, based on UK specifications. The 2014 versions of BREEAM modify the specifications on low emissions from products.

  • Wooden products, any sort of floorings, and suspended ceiling tiles:
    Alternative compliance methods increase flexibility, compared to former versions of BREEAM.
  • Flooring adhesives:
    The very special reference to EN 13999 for determining carcinogens and sensitizing substances is maintained, but the new specifications allow use of existing test data in most cases.
  • Paints and coatings, as well as wall coverings:
    No changes compared to former versions of BREEAM.
