Eurofins as world-wide market leader in VOC testing launches services in the USA

The European company Eurofins Product Testing A/S, as the global leader in VOC (volatile organic compounds) emissions chamber testing, now expands its VOC testing activities as well to North America. The new Manager of Business Development, Denise Van Valkenburg, previously with Masco and Steelcase, will develop the US market by offering local support to US customers. Denise will design tailored VOC testing programs in close cooperation with clients. Further, the opening of a VOC testing laboratory in Des Moines, IA, is planned for 2011.

More and more buildings in the USA are LEED certified and classified as sustainable. One element of this certification relates to low VOC emissions into indoor air. Eurofins supports manufacturers of construction products and furniture by providing independent testing and documentation of compliance with low VOC specifications.

Unique position in the VOC testing market

Denise comments: “I am delighted to work with Eurofins because they operate the only laboratory in the world that is accredited for testing by more than 10 different low VOC emissions programs in Europe and in the US – such as CDPH Section 01350, EMICODE and Blue Angel. This allows industry to use very cost-effective testing programs.” The general Manager of Eurofins Product Testing A/S, Per Holst-Hansen, adds: “We can see already now that our international approach and our state-of-the-art testing services are highly welcomed by the US industry.”

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) organizes the Greenbuild Exposition that will be held in Chicago November 16-18. At booth 1918L, Denise Van Valkenburg and Reinhard Oppl, Director VOC Testing from Denmark, will show how Eurofins supports the US industry in its need for VOC emissions testing. Both are involved in development of low VOC specifications by several organizations and standardization bodies. They are ready to discuss the latest developments in terms of low VOC requirements for sustainable buildings and ecolabels.
